QUEBEC, Nov. 3 /CNW/ - The public is invited to participate in public hearings on November 23 and 25 on the Matoush Uranium Exploration Project, located northeast of Mistissini and Chibougamau.

The present public hearings constitute the second of two phases of the public hearings led by the Federal and Provincial Review Panels under the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement (JBNQA). Phase II of the hearings offers an opportunity for the public to express their opinions on the project and its impacts and to present or file a submission.

The hearings will be webcasted live on the Internet. Interested parties will be able to connect during the hearings through the JBNQA Project Registry at www.ceaa-acee.gc.ca .

Strateco Resources Inc. is proposing to construct an underground exploration ramp in order to identify mineral resources with more precision and to determine the feasibility of a uranium mine.
